After eight months after being raised the possibility of a literary magazine, and in the context of the "Week of the Book and Reading", the insula is born with the first copy in which all Articles are loaded with great strength, where selection is strong poetic and profound images, and stories plunge us into actions that take place in local settings. This magazine is a sign of cohesion that exists in the nucleus of a group of writers, could be described as the undisputed real writers in this city. Who after titanic work, like everything cultural in Cucuta, manage to produce this first issue, to offer a contemporary literary production and build a communication channel that will remain renewed every four months, with the appearance of each new issue.
The Insula Barataria and "island" Salado, are two names that allow us, in our capacity Cucuteños, a mind game on the title of this journal.
